# Enabling WiFi Pass

> Activate and configure WiFi Pass on a Wiacom location

## Prerequisites

* A Wiacom location with an API-connected controller
* At least one SSID assigned the **WiFi Pass** role on the controller
* WiFi Pass activated on your Wiacom plan

## Steps

  <Step title="Enable WiFi Pass">
    Go to **Locations** → select your location → **WiFi Pass → Enable**.

  <Step title="Choose Provisioning Mode">
    Under **WiFi Pass → Settings**:

    | Mode          | Description                                                                             |
    | ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
    | **Instant**   | Passphrase created on registration, shown on the thank-you page and emailed immediately |
    | **Confirmed** | User confirms their email first; passphrase sent in a follow-up email                   |

  <Step title="Set Credential Expiry">
    Under **WiFi Pass → Expiry**:

    | Option             | Detail                                          |
    | ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
    | **No expiry**      | Passphrases never expire (default)              |
    | **Fixed period**   | Expires N days after provisioning               |
    | **Rolling period** | Expires N days after the user's last connection |

      WiFi controllers do not natively enforce PSK expiry. Wiacom enforces expiry by revoking credentials on the controller on an hourly schedule.

  <Step title="Configure the Email Template">
    Go to **WiFi Pass → Email**. In Confirmed mode, configure both emails: the confirmation request and the credential delivery.

  <Step title="Test End-to-End">
    1. Register via your onboarding channel (Guest Connect URL, portal, etc.)
    2. Verify the credential delivery email arrives with passphrase and QR code
    3. Connect a device using the personal passphrase
    4. Confirm the credential appears in **WiFi Pass → Credentials**

## Managing Credentials

Go to **WiFi Pass → Credentials**:

| Action         | Effect                                              |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Suspend**    | Immediately revoked on the controller; restorable   |
| **Restore**    | Re-activates a suspended credential                 |
| **Delete**     | Permanently removed from Wiacom and the controller  |
| **Expire now** | Forces immediate expiry outside the scheduled cycle |

Select multiple credentials for bulk **Suspend**, **Delete**, or **Export** as CSV.
