# Ad Serve

> Programmatic ad serving through the captive portal — manage advertisers, campaigns, creatives, and Portal Ad Flow rules.

<Info>
  **Ad Serve is an optional feature.** This menu is visible only on accounts where Ad Serve has been enabled. Contact [info@wiacom.ai](mailto:info@wiacom.ai) to enable it.
</Info>

The **Ad Serve** menu contains two sub-systems — the full Ad Service module and Portal Ad Flow Rules — depending on your account configuration.

## Ad Service

The full Ad Service module enables venue operators and MSPs to run structured advertising campaigns through the captive portal. It is organised as a standard ad management workflow:

### Advertisers

Manage advertiser accounts. Each advertiser has a name, contact details, and billing configuration. Campaigns and creatives are associated with an advertiser.

### Campaigns

Create and manage ad campaigns. Each campaign is linked to an advertiser and defines:

* Campaign name and active date range
* Targeting rules (location, audience segment, time of day)
* Budget or impression cap
* Associated creatives

### Creatives

Upload and manage ad creative assets used in campaigns — static images, animated GIFs, or HTML banners. Each creative has dimensions, format, and a destination URL for click-through.

### Audience Report

Performance dashboard for all active and completed campaigns. Shows impressions, clicks, and click-through rate (CTR) broken down by campaign, location, date, and creative.

### Embed Generator

Generates embed codes for placing Wiacom ad units in external contexts — for example, embedding a campaign unit into a third-party website or digital signage system.

## Portal Ad Flow Rules

Portal Ad Flow Rules inject ad interstitial screens into the captive portal guest journey at configurable points — for example, between the welcome screen and the login form, or on the thank-you page.

Each rule defines:

* Which portal screen triggers the interstitial
* The creative to display (image, video, or HTML)
* A countdown timer duration after which the guest is auto-redirected
* Whether the guest can skip the ad before the timer expires
* Branding overrides (colours, logo, font) for the interstitial page

For full configuration details see the Portal Ad Flow Rules documentation linked from within the Ad Serve menu.
